North Region Band Camp

North Region Marching/Concert Band Camp – Cadet & Staff Calling Notice


  1. Applications are invited from cadets and staff to attend the North Region Marching/Concert Band Camp, which is to be held at Holcombe Moor Training Camp, Greater Manchester from Friday 09 February 18 until Friday 16 February 18.


  1. The camp has accommodation for up to 50 cadets and 10 staff, who will work together to train and rehearse the North Region Bands.


  1. The band will be working hard to put together a programme of music and a marching display that can be used in future engagements and a performance at the end of the week. In addition, there will be Concert Band, Singing and Ensembles including Rock bands, so please enrole with guitars and kit. There will also be other activities available, including Heartstart and trips out, with the possibility of shooting.


  1. Applications will be accepted from ATC Squadrons in North Region ATC, as well as invited CCF (RAF) sections. Applications will also be accepted from ATC Squadrons and CCF (RAF) sections outside of the aforementioned Regions on a backfill basis.


  1. Cadets with some experience of performing in a marching band are invited to apply, other instruments by permission of the North Region Music Officer. Please see below for further details:

  1. CFAVs interested in helping with instrumental instruction, BTEC coaching, administrative and driving duties (either of Squadron Owned Vehicles or White Fleet – FMT600 holders only), drill & discipline, are requested to register their interest using Annex B. The camp will need a strong administrative team, and musical training team. Remunerated Training Days are authorised within normal allowances and expenses may be claimed (via F1771) at the discretion of individual Wing HQs.


  1. CFAVs with qualifications in First Aid, and Sports are also needed, and will be welcome to stay for some or all of the camp.


  1. The camp levy for cadets will be £60, which will include corporate clothing and all activities, facilities and messing.


  1. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 17th January 18, they are to be submitted by email to band.north@aircadets.org.
